Cherry-Topped Pastry Trinket Box

A shop-window pastry that opens: a base in light blue-lilac and white stripes, a pale green lid edged in red and, on top, a swirl of cream with a cherry that acts as the knob.

Inside it holds jewellery, cotton pads, hair ties or real sweets. In the kitchen, the bathroom or on the bedside table, it's the thing visitors pick up to check whether it's edible.

On its own it's already a party; next to other ceramic treats it turns the shelf into a little patisserie.
